As has been widely reported, NASCAR superstar Kurt Busch is currently under investigation for domestic violence charges. The alleged incident occurred in September of 2014 at the Dover International Speedway. Police have completed their investigation but have not publicly acknowledged whether or not he will be formally charged, according to a recent report published by ESPN.

Busch's former romantic partner, Patricia Driscoll, alleges that Busch assaulted her in a motor home during the weekend of the NASCAR race at Dover. She alleges he smashed her head into a wall in his high-end RV. Busch, through his attorneys, has denied Driscoll's claims and asserted his innocence at related hearings.

According to court documents obtained by the Chicago Tribune, Busch said Driscoll came to his motor home uninvited on the date in question. After asking her multiple times to leave the RV, Busch claims he "cupped her cheeks, looked her in the eye and said: 'You need to leave.'" Driscoll alleges he treated her violently and she feared for her safety. Driscoll has requested a "no contact order" as a result of what she claims occurred. The criminal investigation is separate from the family law court hearing but the results of both will certainly be the subject of intense scrutiny especially for fans of NASCAR.
